Korean Air has started deploying the A330-200 enhanced next generation aircraft on mid to long haul routes. The Airbus model offers better fuel efficiency, lower fuel emissions and improved cabin facilities meaning the aircraft is more environmentally friendly whilst providing greater comfort for passengers.

The new A330-200 Enhanced aircraft can carry up to 226 passengers and has 6 First Class seats and 24 Prestige seats. First Class seats have an 80” pitch whilst Prestige Business Class seats have a 60” pitch.

The new Enhanced aircraft has a range of added features such as a PW4170 Advantage70™ engine which offers maximum fuel efficiency and can reduce CO2 emissions by about 650 tons each year.

In addition, Korean Air’s premium seats have a state-of-the-art AVOD system with large LCD monitor meaning passengers are kept constantly entertained during their flight.

Extras such as mood lighting, real time visuals of take-off and landing, plus an LED reading lamp, which used to only feature on the B777-300ER, are now available on the A330-200.

By 2013, Korean Air will add five more A330-200 Enhanced aircraft to destinations such as Mumbai in India, Tel Aviv in Israel, Melbourne in Australia and Nandi in Fiji.

Since last May, Korean Air has adopted 6 B777-300ER next generation aircraft alongside the refurbishment of its current B777s and A330s fleets. The airline has won six A330 Awards for Top Operational Excellence awards since 2000.
