From October 21st Japan Airlines will be serving passengers at the brand new international terminal of Tokyo International Airport. The airline will be launching international flights from Haneda to the U.S, Europe and Asia.
The Japanese carrier will also unveil upgraded facilities including check-in counters and lounges at the domestic passenger terminal 1 in mid-October.
Eligible JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members, as well as First Class and Executive Class passengers can take advantage of the Arrival Lounge on their inbound journey, as well as the First Class Lounge and Sakura Lounge when they are waiting to board their flight on the outbound journey.
The lounges are designed with warm colors and a spacious layout with designated business, dining and relaxation areas so that passengers can unwind or conduct business in an inviting atmosphere.
Amenities include the latest models of massage chairs and hotel-like shower facilities to ensure ultimate comfort, especially when business travelers are waiting to board late-night flights.
JAL’s first-ever Arrival Lounge will be fitted with shower facilities and light snacks and beverages will be provided, enabling business travelers to freshen up before starting a productive day at the office.
Passengers with a connection from regional airports in Japan to international flights at Haneda will be able to check-through their baggage for the entire journey. Although international passengers connecting to domestic flights have to pick up their baggage upon arrival, Japan Airlines has set up a convenient domestic check-in counter located at the international terminal where passengers can check in their baggage.
JAL has also improved its facilities at its domestic lounges at Terminal 1, which now have a view of the runway. The improved Diamond Premium Lounge and Sakura Lounge will be officially opened from October 20th and now offer even more privacy. Business passengers can use the new library area, shower and massage facilities.
To add to these improvements, JAL has renovated its Smiles Support and Priority Guest counters located on the second floor of Terminal 1. To minimize the time taken between check-in and boarding, JAL First Class counters and JAL Global Club counters have been redesigned with this objective in mind and a dedicated security channel has been established for JAL first class passengers, JMB Diamond members and JGC premier members. First Class passengers can check-in quickly and efficiently before heading to the newly renovated lounges.
