Emirates are to fly to St. Petersburg from 1st November. The airline will operate daily business class services from Dubai to the Russian city, making St. Petersburg the most northerly destination on the Emirates network.

There will be two different planes on the route. An Airbus A340-300 and an A330-200- but both will offer First Class and Business Class.

EK flight 137 will depart Dubai at 10:35am, arriving in St. Petersburg at 16:15pm. The return flight leaves St. Petersburg at 17:45pm and lands in Dubai at 00:35am the next day.

Both planes have 12 First Class seats and 42 Business Class seats. Passengers can expect luxurious Sleeper Seats in First Class and spacious Sleeperettes in Business Class, plus they’ll have access to hundreds of channels of on-demand entertainment. The First Class seats recline to become fully horizontal and have 86” of legroom, whilst the Business Class seats have generous recline and have 54” of legroom.

First and Business passengers can take advantage of the complimentary chauffeur-drive service in Dubai and relax in the Dubai airport lounges.

Emirates already operate twice-daily flights to Russia’s capital, Moscow and St. Petersburg will be the airline’s second destination in Russia.

“We see great potential in Russia and the success of our Moscow flights has demonstrated that there is still demand from this market,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.

“We have been considering launching a non-stop service to St Petersburg for some time and we believe that the conditions are now right to do so. This is a city which attracts many tourists and cruise visitors every year because of its grand architecture, arts and culture and fascinating history,” added Sheikh Ahmed.

The main attractions in St. Petersburg are the Hermitage, which is the largest art gallery in the world, and the Festival of White Nights; an arts festival held during the season of the Midnight Sun, when the sun can still be seen at midnight.
