Connecting Business Class Flights to the Seychelles
Despite there being no direct business class flights to the Seychelles from London, the average journey time on this route is just 15 hours and typically involves just a single short transfer. The best all-round business class experience on this route is provided by Qatar Airways, Etihad or Emirates, operating via Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively. All three offer excellent lounge facilities both in London and during your layover, along with some of the most modern and comfortable flat-bed seats while on board. Emirates and Etihad offer their business class customers a complimentary car service to get them to the airport in London, making the entire journey as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Alternatively, Turkish Airlines offer excellent business class flights to the Seychelles on board their recently modernised fleet, with a short layover in Istanbul. The business class cabin on board Turkish Airlines rivals that of any major European airline, with fully-flat beds, quality in-flight dining and excellent in-flight entertainment. A select number of the airline’s B777 and A330 fleet even include a built-in massage function in business class – a great feature unique to Turkish Airlines! While Ethiopian Air also operate a route to the Seychelles via Addis Ababa, the business class offering falls somewhat short of other airlines, making this a less attractive option.
Getting to and from the airport
Situated on the main island of Mahe, the Seychelles International Airport is the country’s only international gateway as well as being the hub for domestic, inter-island flights. Those passengers arriving on business class flights to the Seychelles who are transferring to a domestic flight should follow the transfer signs upon disembarkation. If, however, your final destination is on the island of Mahe, it is advisable to arrange an airport transfer through your accommodation, who will arrange for a representative to meet you in the arrivals area.
If you plan in travelling independently, Taxis are by far the most convenient option, offering door to door transfers at metered rates. Taxis can be hailed directly outside the arrivals area, although the official taxi desk next to the exit are very helpful and will gladly offer advice on fares. Drivers are generally honest and use the meter without being prompted and will issue an official receipt at the end of your trip.
More independent travellers may enjoy exploring the islands using the surprisingly good public bus network, and with fares starting at just £0.30, this offers excellent value for money. Two bus routes stop near the airport, running north and south respectively, with the journey to downtown Victoria taking around 20 minutes. Those transferring to an inter-island ferry service will find a number of operators within the terminal offering transfers to the port.

Things to do in the Seychelles
While the vast resorts that dominate the Seychelles offer the usual tropical island activities – diving, snorkelling, sailing, yoga and so forth – the Seychelles are better equipped for independent travel than some other luxury destinations. That said, private tours are on offer to practically everywhere in the country for those not wishing to be too independent. Naturally, the stunning beaches are amongst the main attraction here, and simply exploring a little off the beaten track can reward you with the most incredible stretches of white sand, often entirely devoid of people. Hiking and cycling are amongst the two most popular outdoor activities, with bicycle hire and good maps readily available in the main towns. And once the sun sinks below the horizon, visitors arriving on business class flights to the Seychelles will find no end of excellent nightlife to dance away into the small hours. Beachfront Katiolio is a long standing favourite amongst those in the know!
